Carob powder is made from the long, bean-like pods of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua), a flowering evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean and northern Africa. Carob is high in dietary fiber, which means that, unlike traditional effects of white flours or sugars, it won’t cause blood sugar spikes, and actually results in feeling fuller for longer periods of time.
Polyphenols in carob are also powerful antioxidants, protecting your body from damage from free radicals and environmental toxins.
